Subaru Solterra

The Subaru Solterra came out as a 2023 model, but I guess the guy in the Walgreens’ parking lot hadn’t seen one yet. I came out of the store to see him walking around the car, mouth open a little, peering inside.

“What the heck is this?” I told him it was the new Subaru EV. He told me his wife has a Subaru, loves it, and has been waiting for an EV from their favorite car maker. He was charged up over it’s looks, design, and fast-charging abilities.

Ford Explorer Platinum

The 2025 Ford Explorer

Maybe I always wanted a cop car. After driving many Explorers, including the police version, I always liked this vehicle. Maybe it’s because it’s built in my city, on the Southside of Chicago. The Ford Explorer never disappoints. Good power. Handles well on the road. Rock steady at highway speeds. The Explorer holds its own in the mid-sized SUV space, but it has a lot of formidable competition.

2024 Jeep Wrangler 392

Wow! This is one helluva Jeep. The 2024 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 392 continues to impress as a formidable off-road machine with a distinctive blend of power and rugged capability. The 2024 version was titled “Final Edition” because it was slated to the the last V8 offered. Good news, if you’re still saving up for one, there WILL be a 2025 V8!

2024 Nissan Sentra

When it comes to a compact sedan, I liked my time in the Nissan Sentra. Although I enjoyed the Nissan Versa, and its versatility may be perfect for you, I enjoyed the additional room, ride and style of the Sentra.

2024 Fiat 500e

When Fiat first came out with an electric 500, ten years ago, it was a compliance car sold in Oregon and California to meet emissions standards. Fiat’s CEO, the late Sergio Marchionne, famously stated, “I hope you don’t buy it because every time I sell one it costs me $14,000.” Well, it’s back, not bigger but better than ten years ago.

2024 BMW X1 M35i

Not your standard BMW X1. The BMW X1 M35i for 2024 marks a significant evolution in the subcompact luxury SUV segment, blending sportiness, practicality, and premium features in a nice package. BMW’s M division has infused this model with a level of performance and style that sets it apart from its competitors, making it a top choice for those seeking a dynamic yet versatile vehicle.

2024 Nissan Versa

In a world where so many expensive new cars force you to look at almost-affordable used cars, the 2024 Nissan Versa is a refreshing alternative. For under 20 grand, this is a daily driver that delivers. I was a little bit surprised!
