Every so often, I get behind the wheel of a new car and I’m immediately impressed. That’s what happened when I first drove the 2025 Buick Enclave.
The 2025 Buick Enclave Avenir is Buick’s top-tier trim in the midsize SUV segment. with a focus on comfort, luxury, and advanced technology. The 2025 Enclave is new and impressive. One of the key changes for 2025 is the replacement of the old V6 engine with a 2.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder. The engine produces a beefy 328 horsepower. This engine, while more efficient, sounds like it’s struggling during hard hard acceleration but it gets the job done. The benefit of the smaller engine is an improved fuel economy of around 23 mpg, combined city and highway driving.
The Avenir is an excellent cruising vehicle. You get outstanding comfort with gorgeous quilted leather seats, Bose audio system, and standard panoramic sunroof and a head-up display. The glass dash in front of you stretches 30 inches across. It’s a beautiful display. In the Avenir trim, ventilated massaging front seats and heated second-row seats are included. The interior is quiet thanks to active noise cancellation and acoustic glass, calming space for passengers.
Technology and safety abound in the Enclave. It’s the first Buick with Super Cruise, the hands free system for highway driving. A system I first tested when it debuted and several times since. I’m impressed. Along with safety features you might expect, like blind spot warning, parking assist and emergency braking, there are a bevy of additional safety tech. There’s automatic high beam lights, rear cross traffic alert, side bicyclist alert if someone’s riding into your blind spot, traffic sign recognition and intersection cross-traffic alert and emergency braking.
A wonderful, quiet ride. A beautiful interior with its huge glass display. Nice handling and acceptable power from fuel-efficient turbo-4. The Buick Enclave Avenue is a vehicle you really should test drive if you’re in the market for a mid-size SUV.
